The Johnson County Dual Credit (JCDC) Jumpstart Fund has received a $1,000 contribution from First National Bank of Granbury.

Launched in the summer of 2018, the JCDC Jumpstart Fund is a community-led scholarship of Hill College. Initiated by community leaders in Johnson County, the Jumpstart Fund aims to provide scholarships for high school students in Johnson County taking dual credit courses at Hill College. Today in Texas, it is possible for students from 9-12th grades to earn high school and college credit simultaneously by taking dual credit courses. This program provides high school students with the chance to “Jumpstart” their college career by taking college courses while still in high school. Once passed, these courses become transferable college credit while also satisfying the requirements of the student’s high school curriculum.

“We are thrilled to participate with Hill College in offering this wonderful support program for our Johnson County students! The Jumpstart program gives even more of our youth the ability to take advantage of all the benefits dual credit courses can provide. It will help to open dual-enrollment across the board and give more students the opportunity to get an early start on furthering their education,” said Marketing Manager Michelle Lucero.

Jumpstart corporate giving levels include: founder, $10,000 and above; benefactor, $7,500 and above; sustainer, $2,500 and above; and patron, $1,000 and above.
